About Penalty Rates Calc

Penalty Rates Calc is a free Australian penalty rates and award pay tool built to give you a clear estimate in seconds - and to explain the rules behind it in plain language. No sign-up, no jargon, no cost.

Why this site exists

Australian penalty rates, casual loading and award pay are set out across dense pay guides that are hard to apply to a real roster. This site turns them into a straightforward weekly estimate so you can check your pay with confidence. The site launched on September 16, 2026.

Everything here is free to use and works on any device. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

How we keep it accurate

The figures and rules on this site are based on the Fair Work Ombudsman pay guides rather than guesswork. We cite our sources on each page, show an "Updated" date, and re-check the numbers when the rules change. When we find something out of date, we fix it and update the date.

Our tools run entirely in your browser - the numbers you enter are never sent to us. You can read more in our privacy policy.

What this site is not

Penalty Rates Calc gives estimates and general information, not personalised legal or payroll advice. We are not affiliated with the Fair Work Ombudsman. For decisions about your own situation, please speak to the Fair Work Ombudsman or a workplace relations adviser.

Found an error?

We want the figures here to be right. If you spot a mistake or an out-of-date number, please get in touch - tell us the page and the correct figure with a source, and we will check it against the Fair Work Ombudsman pay guides and update it.
